My Chinese New Year at the end

It has been a wonderful and tiring Chinese New Year indeed. Normally singles will celebrate their Chap Goh Meh by throwing oranges into the sea with their contact no. while the couples and families enjoy their companies with each other.

As for me, I went on a group trip to Langkawi with my girlfriend and her colleagues. It is the very first time I have met most of them but nevertheless it is interesting to meet them as well. Why? Because the people who would be friends with my girlfriend will not be that bad since she is known to have attract people with funny and crazy personalities. But the crazy thing though is that I need to wake up as early as 4.00am in the morning. WHAT?!?!??!? How many times have I woke up at such early hours in such short time is a miracle.

So on the early Monday morning on the 15th day of Chinese New Year. Up we are off to her workplace. Surprisingly, we're the 2nd car to arrive. Thought we would be late. From there onwards, off we go to Kuala Kedah to board the ferry to the island of eagles.

Getting ready for our one hour boat ride

Once we arrive, a huge relief we were where we reach the jetty after a long day trip.

Then we went to rent cars that could fit approximately 30 people. Fortunately for me though, I get to drive the 2nd best car that they could provide us which is the Nissan Sentra. I'm glad the car was in a quite good condition despite some problems with the petrol latch in the beginning.

Once we get the cars and the passengers from the jetty, off we went for lunch and boy my stomach is really hungry. We stop by near a Thai Restaurant that were run by Malays Overall, the food is just moderate. One good thing that I got from that place is actually the view. The restaurant is facing one of the spectacular view in front of a lake.

Great Views

We then reach our home stay where it will fit 30 people in one place. The place is amazing since it is very well furnished and well decorated. Once we wash up and taken our rest, our tour began starting from the bird park, beach of black sand, then to the cable car and lastly to Perdana Quay.

1st stop: Bird Park
The place is really nice place to visit where you can see not just birds but various animals in there. Moreover, the birds a free to roam and for us to touch. You could even catch them to take pictures if you are able to (bird food is encouraged).

2nd stop: The land of the black sand
Legend says that this black sand isn't black sand in nature. The locals tells the story that this sand turned black is due to the war happened years ago where the fire burnt most of the area and thus the black sand is discovered.

3rd stop: Cable Car
This is one place where people should stop and take a visit if they are there for the first time. This cable car is 1.7km long at 650meters above sea level. There are 2 stations where the first station is the half way stop to take breathtaking shots of the island. The next station is the overview of Langkawi from the peak. In addition, there is the hanging bridge for tourist to hike which consists approximately 125 meters long. At the end of the bridge you will get to see a mountain that is famously quoted as the "Breast" mountain.

Off to sit the cable car

Final stop: Perdana Quay
For those who has been to Clarke Quay in Singapore or Strait Quay in Penang, this shouldn't be a surprise area for you. This place is very similar where tourist would enjoy their dinner or to have a bottle of beer while enjoying the sea view. It is also where some yacht owners park their boats. There is also the controversial boat who prayed Jesus for the route back home when he lost his navigation.

Soon that yacht is mine!

After the tour, we head home to have some refreshments and to bath. Next, we are then dress up for the beach. Not only that, a bbq beach party is prepared for us to enjoy the food and the company together.

The refreshments

The crab too wanna have a drink

After the dinner, we head home all tired and contented to bath once more before some of us hit our hay while some play some games. But overall our first day reach it's end and we are all sleeping to prepare ourselves for another exciting next day.

The next morning, most of us are up at around 6 something to 7 in the morning. This is quite a difficult task since most of us sleep at around 1am last night. But once all of us are up and have our heavy breakfast of Maggi mee and nasi lemak, our next destination is island hoping. First, we went to Beras Basah Island to play by the beach and monkey~ing around.

Up and off in the morning

The only successful picture where everyone jumps

She caught a little baby crab to play with

Totally fascinated by it

Posing time

Next we went to the middle of the sea to look at how the famous eagles catch their food in the water. It is amazing how eagles could just float around the sky and wait for the right time to catch their food at the right time.

The trademark of Langkawi

Lastly we went to Tasik Dayang Bunting to play with water and have some refreshments. This name is thanks to the hills are placed at the right angle which portrays a lady who is pregnant lying down at the sea.

Does it look like a pregnant lady?

Us after playing water

After the island hopping, we have the fast lunch in Mcdonalds so that we can shop for our liquors chocolates and cigarettes. After a tiring shopping moment, off we went to the landmark of Langkawi, Dataran Lang, where the statue of eagle is located.

After the photoshoot session, it is time to head home. Can't believe time passed so quickly when all is having laughs. As for me, I get to stay in Penang for one last day before I head home to KL and even on that day I feel sad because I spend so little with her. I know it seems a lot ( 5 days to be exact ) but it is never enough to spend with your love ones. Hope to spend with you again my dear. Can't wait for our next activity together.
