Happy Dragon New Year

Another chinese new year has passed again, it was as though it is yesterday that I am spending my time collecting ang pau and winning my ways from the side income as well. This year is where the auspicious where begins, where all couples try to get a child or perhaps children.

As always, during the first day of chinese new year, the first thing to celebrate with is my dad's family side. Fortunately, all of them are based in KL so in the end we do not need to rush with the people to go back hometown and at the same time the road in KL is empty. What is better than to have a family together with home cooked food.

  Lunch with family

This year for the third time, I will still go through this new year with one special person in my mind. It has been the past 3 chinese new year where she was still naive and innocent (not to mention paiseh) whenever her friends keep asking her bout her relationship. This year however, she has grown not only mentality but physically as well. She really has grown from a everyday chic to a one hot sexy lady.

            Before                           After

I'm so glad to have this lady to be my side and also to have her to be part of my life. Without her, the past 3 years would have been so different. But it is something I will never regret to have her around. This is the girl I and proud and happily to announce as my girlfriend.

After posting this, I miss her even more and I'm really looking forward to see her in the next day. See you soon my dear.

Pre-Reunion & The Beginning Of The Year Of The Dragon

It is the start of the 2 week where practically all chinese race enjoys and loves. The fun of having holidays, the food prepared by grandparents or parents and the ever lasting chit chats with all the families when they come together. YES, Chinese New Year Eve has finally begun. This is the time where all families would gather to have a great feast, update among each other, play games with all cousins (and sometimes win some money). What's more important is that to enjoy the special days with the people you grow up with and you love.

A simple reunion dinner is not really that simple after all. Mom's and Dad's would clean up the house, decorate it and prepare food that could easily fit for at least 3 families or more. Even their children is not spared for parents will need as much help as they can. I, however get the job as the food taster and help out with the cooking. Seeing there is no daughter around to help mom, it is only normal for one of her sons help. So early in the afternoon, we started to cook for dinner. The dish are soup and laksa, however my dad is unable to get the ingredients needed (told mom to get it earlier but she say "NO FRESH IS THE KEY"). So we ended up changing the dish from laksa to curry mee, which in fact turn on well I believe.

Well here is the start of cooking but ended up fail

But eventually, manage to come out food such as this

The aroma and the smell is very inviting. Home cooked food is always the best

Now after the soup and curry mee is perfected, the only thing is to bath, pick some nice clothes and wait for all to arrive. I was always near the door so that I could any of my families is knocking near the front gate.

Even my dog notices me being near the door so much that it decided to sit near me and wait along with me

Near 6pm, one by one finally arrived, and the real cooking began. Luckily, I do not need to help out much as they have enough resources to feed the whole army. So, I just kicked back relax and see dish by dish being placed on the dining table while other relatives begin to come.

ROUND 1

1.Curry Chicken

2.Roast Duck

3. Mee Goreng

Combination of all

Let the feast begin.

Within moments, we manage to finish most of the food, but wait, that's not all. When we finish mom said " What? finish already? Time for 2nd helping then" My eyes were like "What second helping?" She came out with bowls of curry me for each of us. I totally forgotten that there is curry mee for dinner. Then, she went to the living hall and prepare her so called "snacks". Most of my families love her "snacks" because she put lots of ingredients in it

ROUND 2: Snacks

The main reason her popiah is so nice is because it is really full of veges inside with additional chicken floss and egg that goes along with it

After round 2, All of us is practically couldn't move thanks to the awesome food. We decided to play some game so that we wouldn't feel so full and it could be digested faster.Everyone decide to play pictionary, where the game is actually choosing a certain word and act it out so that the team could guess what that word is.

Everyone is playing and having fun. This is call FAMILY!

After a good couple of laughs and games. My uncle says "it's time for dessert. Who wants ice cream?" All the children jump and each wants an ice cream. He not only brings out ice cream, there is a box of blueberry cheese tarts as well. Oh gosh! this is one dinner which will definitely bring all the pounds into the tummy.

Round 3: Desserts

Smooth and Yummy Blueberry Cheese Tarts

Who could actually resist ice cream?

Finally it all ended with everyone watching a movie on tv where it is showing Ip Man 2. Once the show ended at midnight, everyone decides to leave and off to bed while wishing all Gong Xi Fa Cai.I on the other hand, continues with the hope where Arsenal could actually overcome their biggest problem ( Goal Scoring and Defence). Unfortunately, the result still stay the same (Seems like Dragon year doesn't affect the people who are staying in UK). Well finally after much disappointment with the match, I am going off to bed still smiling because tomorrow is where I'll receive the ang pau and going back Taiping to meet the crazy family of mine too. Lol...

Happy Chinese New Year!! Gong xi gong xi

Tung tung tung chiang!! That is usual sound of music that I will always look forward every year. Why its chinese new year already!! The time where you will enjoy food, friends, ang pau, gambling and most importantly family reunion.

With so much fun coming my way. How could I ever have the mood to go for work and concentrate?? Haha. However, before the time of joy and prosperous new year begin, TONS AND TONS OF CHORES need to be done. House need to be clean, rubbish need to be emptied and new clothes need to be bought.

In addition, cookies (lots lots of it) must be baked to give to families and friends to eat. People might buy all the cookies but fortunately I have a great mom who is a good cook and baker. And of course, she has a good and loyal son to baked with her. ^^. So today where it is only 1 week before Chinese New Year, we both tried some cookies where my family would love to it.

Peanut butter cookie.

This is truly melt in your mouth, not in your hand

It smells oh so nice.. lol

Nestum Cookie.

Irresistible

With so much tempting food, how could I resist? My only hope is my girlfriend would let me eat all I want this Chinese New Year. (I know you don't force me but I also know you still want me to keep my weight down too hahaha)

Chinese New Year pictures and activities would soon be uploaded. Stay tuned for the exciting New Year. Happy Dragon Chinese New Year!

With the new heart! Let's catch the sunrise

After getting the new Christmas present from my dear. It is time to test it out (and also my own skill). And what is better than going to catch the sun rise. With high laziness spirit, off we went to climb hill in Ipoh. This hill, they simply call it botak hill due to the fact the path leading to the hill is bare and no trees.

The path is bare here

For the first time of the year, I actually woke up 5am on a Sunday where the next day I still need to work (I still can't believe I can do it).

The sky is still dark.

The first stage going up the top

The view of Ipoh really awesome

Once reach the sky is beginning to brighten

The sun is coming up

Fun going out with you

She and her family

Me & You

Time to go down

Sun rise

On the way, manage to see the waterfall. How great to catch this view

Even the dog enjoy the morning exercise

After a good exercise we must also served with great breakfast. After more than 2 years I kind of half stayed in Ipoh I finding Ipoh dim sum is getting boring (LOL). So ended up with somewhere in menglembu to have a taste of their food. The food is not something special, but the unique is the PRICE.

Cost only RM2.50 for the portion of RM4 in KL

Cost only RM3.50. What the heck?

So, it has been a good climb. As long you have the determination and never give up, you will get to the top of the hill. Cheers.
